I have spent the last seven years dedicated to working with children and individuals to help progress and develop social and emotional skills and techniques to deal with daily challenges and thrive in ever changing environments. I am proficient in tackling problems constructively through behavior modification and compassionate and active listening. I am currently in the masters program with National University and working as intern to become a Marriage and Family Therapist where my goal is to create an environment that supports individual growth, success, and happiness within my future practice as a counselor.
While working for Dr. Soliman, I have gained an immense amount of knowledge, cultural sensitivity, and experience in working with underserved and diverse clientele. I have had the opportunity to work with children, couples, families, and individuals. Additionally, I have had the privilege of being trained in BrainPaint, ACT foundations, and EMDR. In addition to this, I have been provided supervision and guidance in using evidence-based therapeutic interventions and techniques. I have continuously engaged in ongoing professional development and opportunities to stay current on best practices, as well as being mindful to adapt my therapeutic approach in order to fit the needs of clients.
Working at Clovis Unified School District I was required to closely monitor children and engage in activities to stimulate their minds and help them progress in their educational and functional life skills . These activities addressed sensory, educational, and physical needs and facilitated interpersonal problem-solving with students to mitigate conflicts. Additionally I would communicate with employers about daily activities, behaviors, and achievements the children made, and was trained in Crisis Prevention in order to safely deescalate children with aggressive behaviors to others or themselves. I was also trained to monitor students' progressive learning skills and report findings to teacher and school psychologist and then under the guidance of the school psychologists I aided in helping students learn emotional regulation and taught coping skills and behavioral modifications.
At Creative Minds Learning Center I closely monitored children's activities as well as engaged with children in creating activities to help aid in their learning and motor skill. I prepared snacks and meals on a daily basis, changed diapers and help assist in potty training, and communicated on a daily basis with parents about daily activities and behaviors.
