Catalina Quintero

After an extensive journey through various Catholic & Christian churches, I found my spiritual home at St. Michael's Abbey. I actively participate in inter-weekly mass, Divine Office prayers, the Holy Rosary, vespers, and compline. Additionally, I attend weekly mass and monthly retreats for ongoing Catholic theology and education. Currently, I am enrolled in the lay order as a novitiate and serve as a volunteer at special events and on Holy Days.

My commitment to St. Michael's Abbey has deepened, fostering strong connections with dedicated members, including those from the Order of Malta. I regularly receive Holy Communion and participate in confession, making this Abbey my central place of worship. Here, through daily prayer of the Divine Office, I find inspiration to strengthen my Catholic faith and grow closer to Christ and our Blessed Holy Mother Mary.

Personal Role and Relationships

• Devoted full-time mother of two and godmother of three from Spring 1984 to Spring 2020.
• Loving wife and dedicated life partner to David P. Quintero, M.D. since July 1982.
• Actively engaged in strategic planning, continuing education, and all aspects of family life for extended family members, friends, and the community when circumstances arise.

• Recruited, hired, and trained staff, conducting detailed and efficient assessments for each team member.
• Provided support for the development of multidisciplinary treatment plans.
• Coordinated the Continuing Medical Education (CME) calendar and staff professional calendar.
• Cultivated relationships with healthcare providers to sustain a robust referral pipeline.
• Represented the clinic as a member of the Council of Community Clinics.
• Addressed inter-clinic and personal issues, as well as questions or concerns related to clinic policies and systems.

• Active in gala/event fundraising; choir; eucharistic ministry; outreach to Tijuana communities through home building, medical assistance, food and resource education.

Challenges and Spiritual Journey (2003-2023):

• Experienced heartbreak in 2003 when our beloved pastor resigned.
• Undertook a twenty-year journey to understand, heal, and find spiritual direction.
• Explored different churches, gaining insights into Christianity.
• Found solace and community at St. Michael's Abbey in Silverado Canyon.

• Recipient of the Coto de Caza committee's recognition from the Philharmonic Society, awarded the 25-year pin for service and commitment.
• Co-created the organization's mission, vision statements, and by-laws, establishing a charter for member guidance.
• Managed and maintained 14 successful seasons of the Coto Candlelight Concerts, significantly enhancing community culture in a previously underserved area.
• Raised approximately $250,000 through Candlelight Concerts fundraising activities, benefiting seniors in residential communities and supporting children's musical education in schools.
• Monitored promotional approaches to increase fundraising and ensure the integrity of all activities.
• Worked directly with award-winning symphony conductors, musicians, prodigies, and students, fostering cultural enrichment for the community.
