Assist providers with patient care by obtaining weights and vital signs (blood pressure, heart rate, temperature). Document patient medical history, concerns and symptoms. Verify medication list and update when needed. Place orders such as tests, medication refills and referrals. Collect blood sample from patients and administer IV in patients when ordered by provider. Assist in patient education and understanding plan of care. Manage medical records and scheduling of future appointments. Follow up calls to patients for close monitoring. Taking incoming calls to address patient questions or concerns. Respond to patient mychart inquiries. Preform monthly quality control audits for Cardiology Department and Heart Failure Clinic. Assist staff members with New Epic implementation and troubleshooting when needed.
Greeting patients and collecting demographic information (name, address and phone numbers), gathering and verifying insurance information for billing purposes. Distributing and explaining patient forms and documents for understanding and accuracy. Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality. Collect co-payments and deductibles from patients.
