  • Acquired time management and mentorship skills working with five different collaborators and training multiple graduate and undergraduate students.
  • Proficient in radioactive safety protocol development, SOP writing, and implementation

Teaching Assistant for Biochemistry Lecture Course

Duke University
08.2018 - 12.2018
  • Assisted the head professor with teaching a senior-level biochemistry course on protein structure, biophysics, and human metabolic pathways (160 students).
  • Instructed lectures and recitations, held office hours, and was designated lead teaching assistant for the preparation, grading, and organization of exam proctoring.

Teaching Assistant for Biochemistry Laboratory Course

University of Virginia
08.2016 - 05.2017
  • Supervised a year-long senior-level inquiry-based biochemistry laboratory course
  • In this lab, students learned core biochemistry methods the first semester, then worked on research projects the second semester.
  • Mentored 15 students in a principal investigator-like manner and provided guidance on their research projects
  • Students presented their results at the 2017 VIRGINIACS conference.

Undergraduate Researcher

Old Dominion University
01.2015 - 05.2016
  • Mentor: Professor Steven Pascal, Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry
  • Gained experience in protein expression, purification, isotope labeling, and screening of small molecule inhibitors by NMR.
  • Collected Nuclear Magnetic Resonance data (NOEs and RDCs) and conducted structural characterization of the HRV-14 3C protease bound to rupintrivir, in the presence and absence of RNA (XPLOR-NIH).
