  • Designed, developed, tested, and implemented the NAVAIR Applications Repository (NAR 2.0) as the front end for the database.
  • Utilized ORACLE 9i for database management, Designer 4.4 for design, and developed application with JAVA, HTML, Cold Fusion, Oracle Forms/Reports 6i, PL/SQL, and SQL.
  • Mapped data from legacy databases to Oracle 9i Data Warehouse, ensuring accuracy and accessibility of information.
  • All mapping was performed with Informatica (a tool similar to datastage).
  • I was a key team member in the creation of the warehouse data dictionary which held all of the metadata definitions.
  • I was responsible for the maintenance and security of the Base Access System.
  • This system was developed using Oracle forms and reports containing many triggers and procedures written in PL/SQL, supported an automated visitor machine and produced the picture badges necessary to gain access to the base.
  • The system incorporated workflow processing for the purpose of routing visit request to the proper authorities for approval.

  • I used PL/SQL to extract data from the old data stores, manipulate the data according to the data integrity rules established, and load the new data structure.
  • These scripts generated processing statistics as well as error logs for the purpose of ensuring no data was lost and for accurate estimates for the duration of the migration effort.
  • The result of the effort was a single 8i database repository, running in a UNIX environment and a web enabled application that provided the logistics and engineering support to the respective departments that were responsible for building and deploying the Radio Control Systems on our Navy Destroyers.
