PACU

• Provide high quality care for Phase I and Phase II PACU patients to prevent and treat postoperative complications including: airway management, hemodynamic instability, nausea, vomiting, and pain.
• Prepare and facilitate safe patient transfers to appropriate nursing units.
• Provide detailed patient and family discharge teaching for outpatient surgeries.
• Charge nurse and preceptor.

Intensive Care Unit

• Comprehensive daily nursing care of 1-3 critically ill patients.
• Manage care of adult medical/surgical ICU patients including: Postop neurosurgery, Intubated/ventilated patients, Post cardiac catheterization, Sepsis.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to provide patient centered care.
• Orient and mentor new graduate nurses.

Acute Rehabilitation Unit

• Supervise and evaluate work activities of Nurses and Patient Care Assistants.
• Manage scheduling according to staff experience, acuity, and unit census.
• Review and analyze unit data in order to organize performance improvement initiatives.
• Develop staff education concurrent with current best practices.

Acute Rehabilitation Unit

• Manage daily nursing care of 5-7 rehabilitation patients requiring inpatient medical and nursing care.
• Develop, utilize, and evaluate individualized Plans of Care specific to the medical and rehabilitation needs of each patient.
• Orient and mentor new graduate nurses.
