Work History

Teacher (Kindergarten, 3rd Grade & 4th Grade))

Uncommon Bedford-Stuyvesant West Elementary School
Brooklyn, NY
08.2022 - Current
  • Strategized for creative learning solutions to help meet student performance goals such as leading one-on-one learning sessions tailored to students' skill levels.
  • Implemented lessons that consistently raised the level of performance and engagement such as creating games and team building activities that incorporated a specific skill.
  • Conducted routine data analysis to identify student instructional needs in order to restructure future lessons.
  • Created engaging parent activities at community events such as teaching parents how to deliver instruction at home. I also helped with the set logistics for our school's 4th grade musical which resulted in the music leader of Uncommon Schools sending an email to my principal that stated that it was one of the best on stage productions she had seen in Uncommon School’s history.
  • Modeled being a "warm demander" to my co-teacher and my team. I demanded high performance from myself, my co-teacher and my students while doing it in a gracious and caring way.

Visual Arts Teacher (6th, 7th & 8th Grade)

Lewis Middle School - Aldine ISD
Houston, TX
08.2016 - 05.2022
  • Partnered with local Houston board members, NBA players, MLB players and NFL players in my fundraiser where I raised close to $10,000 for computers for my students during the pandemic.
  • Managed projects including maintaining the art budget and coordinating program and project logistics such as travel for student art contests and managing student contest entries in national art competitions. I also served as my school's Art Club Director in which I organized the logistics of holding an after school art club for students.
  • I served as a Campus Grant Coordinator where I created and implemented my own training program to train teachers in my school how to fundraise for their own classrooms and I helped those teachers raise around $10,000.
  • I was on the Visual Arts Curriculum Writing Team for Aldine Independent School District where I interpreted student data to help me write data responsive curriculum for a district of over 63,000 students.
  • I was on Aldine Independent School District's Art Advisory Team in which I helped make crucial decisions in our district's future strategies to deliver our art curriculum to students and teachers.
