This facility provides a wide range of nursing care for patients aged 21 to 103 years, including those with mental challenges, special needs, hospice care, and issues related to alcohol and drug dependency, as well as acute care, retirement, and rehabilitation.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Serving as a charge nurse
- Completing Medicare charting and procedures
- Administering medications
- Obtaining and documenting vital signs
- Monitoring patients
- Managing patient admissions, discharges, and transfers
- Assessing and monitoring patient conditions
- Taking physicians’ orders and communicating with physicians and other medical professionals
- Providing respiratory oxygen therapy, wound care, and care for inserted catheters
- Performing oral suctioning, tracheostomy care, and suture removal
- Overseeing G-tube care and coordinating specimen collection with other medical staff
- Additionally, I have managed staffing schedules to ensure adequate coverage while minimizing overtime costs, as well as supervised daily scheduling, task assignments, and administrative duties.
- Trained new nurses in proper techniques, care standards, operational procedures, and safety protocols.
- Coordinated nursing care on the unit through staff assignments, assisting and rounding with physicians, monitoring patient orders, and communicating with ancillary departments.
