  • Winner NIE Info Services Best Ideas Contest for Original Curriculum
  • National Newspaper Association (NNA) Excellence Awards for Educator Marketing Tools, Educational Support and Partnerships
  • News-Democrat Newspaper Circulation Excellence Award
  • Commissioned by the World Association of Newspapers to write an original children’s story to be used for the 2009 International Literacy Day celebration. This story was then translated to numerous languages and provided to newspapers worldwide. Invited to speak at international newspaper conference in Prague, Czech Republic, on the importance of youth content in newspapers.
  • Commissioned by the Newspaper Association of America to write an original serial story that was offered to newspapers in North and South America for Hispanic Heritage Month 2010 and 2011.
  • Written multiple children’s stories that have been published in newspapers worldwide and created companion, standards-aligned curriculum guides for these stories.
