  • General Superintendent Pipe Department
  • June 2014- Feb 2021 Gen Supt Pipe Shop operations
  • Reduced PD (Pipe Detail) rates across all classes of ships manufactured at Ingalls. Set best in class PD rates on LPD, DDG, NSC, and LHA classes.
  • Responsible for Safety, Quality, Cost, and Schedule for Pipe Shop Cost Center, Improved Cum CPI from a .92 to a .99. Approximate cost variance of 3000 hours across an approximate 1 million man hour budget.
  • During this time period managed unit outfitting on DDG 121 and DDG 123. Showing 3% learn across sequential hulls.
  • Managed the successful repair of USS Fitzgerald. Repaired all pipe damage with a Cum CPI of a .94 while maintaining Safety and Quality ratings within acceptable limits.
  • Feb 2021 - Present. Gen Supt Pipe Department LHA program. Responsible for all aspects of safety, quality, cost, and schedule for team of approximately 300 craftsmen and managers

Teams won two Presidents Award for Excellence. Pipe Welding Team won award for World Class Rates in volumetric inspections below 1 percent. Hull Gen Supt Walter Dixon won leadership award for innovative improvements in processes that improved quality and cost.

Won Presidents Award for Excellence for improvements in pipe welding quality with a team that included operations employees in pipe department and the quality assurance department. Improvements were recognized by both SupShip GC and NAVSEA.

Responsible discipline include structural welding nuclear and non-nuclear, pipe welding nuclear and non-nuclear.

Team successfully completed Block 1 and currently were working block 2 boats with significant learning between ships during my tenure.

Burning Foreman- Worked crew of approximately 12 burners. Responsible for all burning operations for outfitting, shipwrights, and shipfitters.

Compartment Completion. Sold all compartments on CVN 76 structural complete for welding department to ships management.

Pipe Welding Foreman- Managed a crew of approximately 15 pipe welders during construction of the ship.

Operations Trade Management Foreman for Welding Department. Responsible for Hiring and Training of Pipe Welders for the Welding Department. Hired and trained pipe welders based on demand from company labor resource hiring plan. Developed corrective and preventive actions for pipe welding across all programs.
