Summary

I am an experienced Speech and Language Pathologist with over a decade of service to students with complex communication needs in Lane County. I am skilled in the use, training and programming of high and low tech Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) systems, as well as significant experience identifying, implementing and training staff to support safe eating plans in the school setting. I work in a collaborative multidisciplinary context in order to provide comprehensive and effective services to the students on my caseload. I am passionate about empowering families and caregivers with knowledge to confidently support their child's communication needs. I am also committed to a life long practice of examining and evaluating my implicit bias to ensure and maintain equity within my practice.

  • Provide Speech and Language Supports to students k-12 in Life Skills Programs with complex communication needs
  • Develop individualized treatment plans with measurable goals based on assessment findings and incorporating student strengths and unique needs.
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations using standardized measures to accurately diagnose client needs
  • Support and program a vast array of AAC systems, low tech to high tech (VODs, PODD, LAMP WFL, P2G, TouchChat, and TD SNAP, including eye-gaze activated systems
  • Provide support to students from many socio-economic, linguistic and ethnic backgrounds, while being committed to a practice of examining implicit bais.
  • Collaborate with professionals across many fields of expertise (OT, PT, Autism Specialist, Teachers of the Blind and D/HoH) to provide comprehensive supports for students
  • Identify need, develop plans, collaborate with relevant professionals and train staff to follow safe eating plans for students with eating and swallowing needs
  • Regularly monitor client progress using effective data collection methods and adjust treatment plans when needed
  • Provide regular training and support to school teams and family members on communication techniques, strategies to increase communication opportunities, AAC, and Safe Eating Plans
