Celeste Andrews

Students at BHSEC-Newark simultaneously earn their high school diplomas and an Associates degree from Bard College. I teach the History of the United States, 1929-Present. Responsibilites in this role include:

• Planning the course curriculum and writing or gathering all course materials.
• Leading the class and interacting with about 100 individual students on a daily basis.
• Grading, classroom management, and all other duties associated with teaching.

Teaching Fellows lead weekly discussion sections, grade students’ material and provide feedback, mentor and provide support for students, and act as a conduit of communication between the course’s professor and students.

• Three-time recipient of the Certificate of Distinction in Teaching from the Office of Undergraduate Education, Harvard University

I worked on a team that oversaw the publication of two editions of this peer-reviewed academic journal. My responsibilities included organizing peer review matches, copy editing and proofreading articles in preparation for publication, and communicating with authors and peer reviewers, and managing the less senior members of my team.

I worked with a team that organized this annual academic conference. My responsibilities included determining the conference's program of participants from a pool of applicants, planning the event itself (including organizing food, booking the venue, and obtaining technical equiptment), and communicating regularly with program participants and the rest of my team.
