My parents have always told me two things that have shaped the way I live and work: “Observe well enough before you speak,” and “There are always at least three solutions to any problem.” These lessons taught me to approach challenges with calmness, curiosity, and a positive mindset; qualities that have guided me both in school and in my early work experiences.
My name is Celine Park, and I am a first-year student at the University of Washington, majoring in Anthropology. Having completed elementary school in Korea and continuing my studies in the United States since middle school, I have learned to adapt quickly to new environments and cultures. These experiences have strengthened my communication skills, flexibility, and ability to connect with people from diverse backgrounds.
Throughout high school, I served as class representative every year, where I learned how to listen to others well and lead with empathy. I also volunteered each summer at my local library, assisting librarians and took part of the program reading books to children, experiences that enriched my sense of responsibility and community. These commitment grew as I began gaining real-world experience, such as working at Baskin Robbins Korea and teaching at a local English academy. Both roles helped me develop teamwork, problem-solving, and professionalism, and I was often recognized for my positive attitude and strong work ethic.
I am so eager to continue learning and contributing in new environments that challenge me to think critically and act thoughtfully. I believe my adaptability, leadership experience, and calm approach to problem-solving would make me a valuable addition to any team. Thank you for considering my application.
Sincerely,
Celine Park
