• PACU- Charge
• Overseeing high volume 30-45 pt department flow while providing safe and compassionate patient care.
• Coordinate with all staff and interdisciplinary teams, address patient and cohort needs.
• Promote and establish consistent, safe, and positive team centered environment.
• Diligently monitor (airways, vitals, neuro status, surgical sites) and care for a wide variety of post anesthesia patients.
• Ensure high level of care to each patient's safety when transitioning from anesthetized state to meeting discharge safety standards.
• Thoroughly communicate and collaborate with surgeons and anesthesiologists addressing any concerns in patient's physical, neurological or psychological status,vitals,medications or labs.
• Determine if patient has safely met PACU protocol guidelines for discharged. Ensuring patient safely returns home and a great start to successful home recovery. Thoroughly explaining discharge instructions, answering questions and making sure family or caregivers can verbalize knowledge of their (paper copy) discharge instructions.

PRE OP

Safely and efficiently prepare patients of different ages and complex medical history to undergo a wide variety of surgeries (various age groups infants, geriatric, etc.).

• Perform thorough and efficient preoperative patient assessment, meticulously following protocols, professionally coordinate with interdisciplinary staff, completing surgeons/anesthesiologist orders (medications, labs), obtaining difficult IV insertions, surgical site prepping, etc.

• Provide high quality, life saving measures for emergent (Strokes, MIs, Trauma, PEs, M1s, OD) acutely and chronically ill patients of all age ranges, with complex medical history, complex social dynamics and backgrounds.
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary team to stabilized emergent patients and transfer modalities via Flight for Life transport, CCT, ACL or BLS transport to higher level of care facilities.
• Manage department flow and address department needs to provide high quality, life saving core measures/ protocols with compassionate care for acutely ill, chronically ill and stable patients (stroke alerts, cardiac alerts, Level 2-3 trauma, substance abuse and psych patients).
• Encourage and support team efforts, assuring policies/procedures are upheld, policies and core measures are met concisely.

• Float Full time to SCL and Centura facilities as an ER agency nurse and recently Cross trained to ICU/ Step down unit at SCL
• Experience and knowledge of policies/procedures and use of EPIC at SCLs, UCH, Cantura Facilities and HealthONE.
  

• Highly depended on 16yrs of Nursing and ER experience, skills and knowledge to assure high quality patient safety and care with minimal resources and staff
• Trained and performed interdisciplinary skills usually performed by pharmacist, respiratory therapist, medical lab tech tasks Proficient in mixing and dosing IV infusions such as antibiotics, TPA, TNK, etc.
• Proficient at troubleshooting and managing various types of ventilators.
• Proficient use of iStat, EKG, POC labs, lab CBC analyzer, glucometers
  

• Guided and supervised our team to provide high quality patient care in a hectic, fast paced, 30 bed, level 3 ER transitioned to Level 2
• Concise and positive collaboration with ER team of 5-10 RNs, EMTs, Paramedics and interdisciplinary departments to provide exceptional life saving measures and treat patients of all age ranges, all backgrounds and all levels of acuity
• Performed nurse rounding and chart audits, prepare for Joint Commission Surveys, assured protocols, policies, procedures and core measures requirement were met
