I have partaken in the development of the Santiago Canyon Art and Anime Club. Though it may be a leisurely club made for sharing the art of anime manga while bringing in culture from various nations involving them, I have volunteered with the Anime Club ever since it has began. Though I have began my volunteer efforts as a regular member, I have assisted the board members during their times of need, especially when some cannot make it during club rush. Not only have I assisted the board members of the Anime Club during Club Rush, I have also assisted in gathering resources for specific events of the Anime Club (such as movie nights, drawing circles, and presentations). I even gathered new members from advertising the club to newcomers or potential members thinking of joining the community. As the board members have recognized and appreciated my service to the Anime Club, they have trusted me enough to appoint me as the secretary of the club. As I am continuing to aid the Anime Club and further expand its development, the board members have considered making me the representative of their club.
As for my service in other school organizations, I have helped my mom with her class as well as other teachers. Whenever I have free time or at least a good amount of time to spare, I tend to volunteer at my mom's school where I used to go to help organize her classroom, transport copies or important documents to other teachers and offices. I even help students who are struggling with mathematics, reading and writing, and school projects. As the school (Heninger Elementary) is a predominantly full of Latin students, I also volunteer to help students or parents with translations as plenty are mainly Spanish speakers. At times when the school undergoes a rainy day schedule, I volunteer to help keep classrooms in order and as planned through their rainy day schedules, especially when keeping children entertained at recess or delivering lunches to classrooms. Most times when school lunches need to be delivered to students during rainy day schedules, the lunch workers tend to be short staffed depending on the weather conditions. Thus I come to contribute to help deliver school lunches to classrooms in such inclement weather conditions and help fill in for short-staffed members. The times I especially volunteer to contribute is during special events of the schools such as open house, field trips, back to school nights, festivals and such. It is especially to publicize the school to newcomers, future members, and to show the success of the students to parents willing to see the growth of their children in education.
