Work History

ISD Warehouse Technician

My role as an ISD Warehouse Technician has changed over time. First, I started in the warehouse doing the EOL (End of life) Process. My responsibilities included receiving gondolas from multiple hospital locations. In these gondolas came with devices or assets, that are not able to be repaired or out of warranty. These assets are laptops, Desktops, Monitors and printers just to name a few. Each Location has a Paper Manifest with a list of all the assets that have been sent from their location. I go through the list check each asset off as I physically see it on the gondola. Once all the locations have been checked I gather all of the paper manifest and then would deliver the locations on a web called Service Now. In Service Now I pulled up the locations manifest with the barcode they provide, once pulled up on the screen the assets will be listed with a clear box next to each asset. In the box I put a 1, indicating I have received the asset. Once I've gone through the whole list I click Delivered, then move on to the next location and repeat. After all the locations have been delivered, I would organize each gondola with the same assets. An example would be putting all Desktops on one gondola and same with the other assets. The final process of EOL would be the pickup from a company called GreenTech, every Thursday. I would make an Excel spreadsheet list of all the assets that are EOL, that list would be send to GreenTech. GreenTech would come, go through the list and make sure the list matches with the physical hardware they see. Once it has been checked they would load it up in the truck. After 1 year of doing the EOL process I got offered to the learn the Config Center. In the Config Center I am in charge of Imaging brand new devices. The devices are Laptops, AIO Desktops, Thin client Desktops, Wyse, Dell Precision Towers etc. I would receive a certain amount of RITM's which is a paper that provides the information of the device it is and what image it needs to have. One example I can provide is the RITM reads 15-inch Laptop with a Windows 10 bundle admin image. I would grab the 15-inch laptop from the warehouse, bring it to the Config Center. Take the laptop out of the box, connect the power cable and the ethernet cable to the laptop. I have USB Key's that contain the images needed for the devices. Plug in the USB key to the laptop, power it on hit F12 multiple times until it directs me to the Bios Menu. In the Bios menu select the USB key, now the computer will download the folders and files from the USB key. Once it has downloaded the files and folders, a sign in screen will appear I would sign in and choose the Image. In this case it's a Windows 10 bundle check the box and proceed to click "begin". Once the laptop has finished downloading the image, there will be a pop-up screen that say's "Success". Restart the laptop and sign in with credentials, the next step would be the Encryption program. Hit the Window's icon type "Dell Encryption" click it, a new window will pop up. In here the Encryption is in process, once it's done it will say "In compliance". Final step would be Shutdown laptop, boxed it up tape the RITM to the box and give it to the warehouse.
