Summary

I am currently seeking a superintendent position in either Reliability or Maintenance. I have a strong work history in both areas and have worked from my tools up. I have seen the challenges and benefits and understand both sides of view from mechanics to managers. My career started as an E/I working days and shift work and progressed to major engineering projects to planning and supervision of contractors, mechanics and supervisors.

Planner / Supervisor /Asst. Superintendent

My duties consist of all planning efforts in the power house area consisting of (2) Recovery Boilers, (2) Evaporator sets, and (2) Recaust / Lime kilns. My primary role is daily and outage planning with emphasis on annual budget needs. Strong use of CMMS (SAP) and MS office software including MS Project. Creating detailed job plans / detailed reoccurring work orders / identification of critical spare parts to minimize unscheduled down time are just a few items in this challenging opportunity. I also supervise Domtar's union hourly maintenance work force as well as a project administrator over all contractor labor.

Maintenance Supervisor

Duties include oversee the daily and outage maintenance activities of the softwood mill at Domtar Ashdown. I have the opportunity to work with the union and contract personnel to ensure that our pulp mill is at its peak of production and reliability. My areas of responsibility include pine chip silo, diamond back, low pressure feeders, pressure diffuser, O2 diffuser, continuous Kamyr digester (1) bleach plant (6) washers, (2) chlorine generators, all auxiliary and screening/washing equipment.

Major Outage Project Engineer

Responsibilities included oversee the outage maintenance activities of (3) Power Boilers, (2) Recovery Boilers, (2) black liquor evaporators, (4) Turbine Generators, (3) Water treatment plants, (2) Recaust and (1) Effluent plant.
• Daily tasks included step planning daily and shutdown work orders.
• Define job scopes; negotiate job scope costs to ensure profitability of my home company.
• Supervise contract maintenance crew for weekly and outage related work.
• Develop and adhere to the maintenance budget.
• Coordinate all activities surrounding 5 major outages per year, as well as, minor outages
throughout the year.
• Follow all guidelines of PSM covered equipment.
• Conduct all actions and duties within the collective bargaining agreement between the company and the local union labor.•
• Creation of Outage Bar Chart management using MS Project
• Contractor coordination / management of each contractor onsite,
• Identify all critical parts with spare parts management,
• Develop and update the Weekly schedule
• PM work order management and using SAP CMMS.
• Instill the philosophy to my fellow employees that no job is so important that it cannot be done
safely.
• Ensure all employees under my care are given the tools, knowledge, and resources needed to
perform their job in the safest possible manor.

I have just finished the planning and execution of the first cold outage shutdown in the Power area in 25 years. I was the project engineer for a $9.25M project. The project was a series of (15) weekly back to back shutdowns to address critical maintenance needs in the wood yard and chip handling system at Domtar Ashdown.

Worked as multicraft mechanic on mechanical systems and electrical systems from 24VDC to 2300VAC, PLC controls, Fisher Provox DCS controls, instrumentation- control valves, controllers, control valves, worked on bridge cranes as well as portal cranes, stack monitors. I have worked in all departments of Domtar Ashdown, 4 years paper, 4 years pulp, and 2 years power. I have worked 1 year in the Predictive maintenance group at Domtar. In this group we ran our rotating equipment to discover bearing failures and fan balancing issues that cause bearing failures to ensure favorable ratability.
