Senior Correctional Officer with over 19 years of experience in both prison and jail facilities. Excel at intense situations in a diverse atmosphere. Expert level Crisis intervention skills, with the ability to defuse even the most volatile of inmates in elevated states of aggression (been known for my "silver tongue"). Have achieved a respectful working relationship with the inmates under my supervision. I have achieved this by being firm, fair, and consistent throughout all my actions in my duties. I listen to their complaints and assist with their requests where I am able. This effort has paid off in my career and I have become known as an Officer that does what he says and one who will take the time to listen to concerns and follow through on resolving them if able. I am leader amongst my peers and routinely sought out by my supervisors for my knowledge and thoughts on matters in inmate behavioral plans, records, and management. I have excelled at my duties accomplishing being one of only a few Correctional Officers to be fully trained in every position in the jail. I am a Field Training Officer and have been throughout my career and enjoy meeting new people and building lasting relationships. I work well within groups and when flying solo on projects. I am self motivated and pride myself on being dependable and time efficient when given a task.
