JOB DETAILS
The job scope and skill required for the scope changes with every work order received. The ability to adapt to whatever is asked is an absolute must. All the while having to take into consideration what needs are required from other trades workers in my department (electricians, plumbers, landscapers, and locksmith/door hardware supplier). When their services are required, I arrange for a time to go over the project and schedule them as needed for the project. In addition to that, I arrange a schedule with the department where the work is being performed, making sure that it is being done in a safe and timely manner. There are also project that require outside contractors to be involved. When this is the case, additional scheduling takes place to make sure all are on the same page. More often than not, the projects are being performed in an area that the public has access to. When this is the case, special attention gets paid to ensure that there is no risk to the public.
In 2005, I opened a construction company that performs all phases of construction and still continue to operate. In addition to physically performing whatever the particular job called for, I also must engage in the initial customer appointment. At the appointment I would learn what the scope of work was that they were looking to have done. From there I would figure what was needed and would create a proposal that was later present to the customer. Upon acceptance, I would schedule a start by and end by schedule with the client. If the project required any permits or inspections I would facilitate them when needed. On many occasions subcontractors would be involved on projects. When a subcontractor was involved, I would do inspections at the benchmark times setup prior to the project starting, making sure that the job/work was being done with quality workmanship.
The scope of work covered many phases of residential, commercial, and municipality projects. The scope of work often included but was not limited to:
As previously noted, the scope of work varied depending on what the needs of the clients were. So the ability to adapt to whatever was needed was a must. As well, the broad range of personalities I would come across required that I was able to adapt to whatever I encountered. If I lacked the ability to do that, there would have been many instances that projects would not have taken place.
Employed by a small construction company out of High School. Specialized in roofing, siding, windows, and doors. Would perform exterior home renovations in the spring, summer and fall. In the fall time, my boss would buy a home that we would fix up during the fall and winter. When spring arrived, he would sell the house and then we would get right back into the swing of things. While employed with him we did the following:
In 2005, I decided to venture out and open my own company as I knew that I was able to do what we had been doing over the past years. However, I knew that I would be able to make more money, allowing me to provide a better life for my family.
I take great pride in all areas of construction It is a field that excell in on many plans My ability to see things before they are created and ability to create solutions to problems that arise is a quality that separates me from others in my field
