My name is Chad Pilcher, I am a graduate of Chicago State University’s undergraduate Psychology program, and their graduate Clinical Mental Health and School Counseling programs. As an intern with the B.A.M. (Becoming A Man) program of the Youth-Guidance Organization, under the supervision of World Sport Chicago in the Chicago Public School system, I gained experience in clinical psychological intervention with youth and families, as well as experience in behavioral and cognitive individual and group counseling. I also completed my graduate internship with Compass Counseling, a subsidiary of the Alternative School Network in an alternative school called Youth Connection Leadership Academy (YCLA). My former position as a paraprofessional while seeking my Professional Educator’s License with a school counselor’s endorsement allowed me to further explore and develop skills at youth engagement, intervention, and behavioral and academic adjustment. I have worked as a paraprofessional, a therapist, and I’ve done intake for a behavioral health facility since earning my master’s degree. I have also begun my doctoral program, after which I hope to establish a school for students considered to be “at-risk” in the Chicago area. I am very proficient with all Microsoft software, I am an efficient writer, and I am also capable in data entry and maintenance capacities. I am outgoing, motivated, disciplined, and I can communicate effectively with anyone. I would be a welcome addition to any academic or psychological intervention endeavor.
