I am Chad Torres, a very detail-oriented person who is passionate about public safety and helping others. With 8 years of public safety knowledge as a firefighter, I have proven my ability to work under pressure and in intense moments. I am a team player and strive to get any job done to the best of my ability. Outside of my work life, I am a loving father to a beautiful daughter, and a happy husband to my gorgeous wife.
As an Ariel Lift Trimmer, we at Kendall Vegetation are subcontracted by Union Power to safely remove, trim, and prune trees and brush near or around power lines. We work to ensure trees do not interfere with power lines; this prevents outages, fire hazards, and potential injury.
As a firefighter, I am a skilled first responder who is trained to prevent, fight, and extinguish fires, and also provide emergency medical care and rescue services. At my fire department, I hold a lieutenant's position. My primary job as a lieutenant is to make sure all equipment on our apparatuses and in the station is in working order, and if not, I take them out of service and either fix them or send them off to a special company to fix. This ensures all fire/rescue equipment is top-notch when needed in an emergency.
As a fully armed responder for McGuire Nuclear Station (Duke Energy), I was in intense armed security training to ensure that all plant personnel at McGuire Nuclear were protected from the public, and we had major patrols making sure that the theft of special nuclear material did not take place, and that nuclear sabotage was prevented. As armed responders, we were equipped with an LE AR-15 at all times on our persons, with full body armor. We conducted security checks on personnel entering the premises. As well as followed established protocol for responding to alarms or other emergency situations.
As a foreman for Davey Tree, I successfully ran a three-man crew subcontracted by Rutherford Electric to cut back all trees and vegetation growing around or near power lines and power poles. I was then on a right-of-way crew clearing land for new power line construction being built.
As a firefighter, I am a skilled first responder who is trained to prevent, fight, and extinguish fires, and also provide emergency medical care and rescue services. My time at Crouse FD, I held a lieutenant's position here; my primary role was in charge of our junior member program we held. Anyone interested in firefighting from the age of 14 to 18, my colleague and I would train them and teach them everything they needed to know before attending classes to be fully certified firefighters.
My time as a carpet cleaner, my colleague and I ran a 2-man crew cleaning carpets, tile and grout, furniture, and cars. We also specialized in flood and fire damage. We did residential and commercial work.
