As a stevedore I have been responsible for oversight for the correct and safe handling of cargo on numerous vessel operations to include cement,lumber,bulk cargo and container vessels. Being responsible for longshore labor and equipment on each vessel. Staying in communication with operations director daily on labor issues and vessel schedules.

Used problem-solving skills to alleviate issues efficiently with minimal supervision .Troubleshot equipment breakdowns and performed preventive maintenance .Followed work orders and specifications for machine and equipment replacement, repair, or maintenance. Completed daily, weekly, and monthly checklists on building equipment to maintain records of scheduled maintenance procedures. As a maintenance technician I achieved various certifications such as Master Rigger cert, NCCO Licensed crane operator.

Championed process improvements that resulted in higher productivity levels without sacrificing safety or quality on various vessel operations at Sunny Point. Conducted periodic audits of operational practices to identify areas of improvement or noncompliance with maritime regulations. Enhanced terminal efficiency by streamlining operations and implementing performance-driven processes and procedures. Ensured compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, industry standards related to terminal operations. Was active with the accident review committee to insure safe and productive damage free operations where achieved. Participated in numerous labor negotiations with union officials .

Overseen safe and efficient day to day operations across the terminal to include various vessel, container stuffing, rail car and transfer operations of explosives. Working with longshore labor to provide an efficient process with Sunny point Military teams.

Overseen the correct and safe handling of container,steel, wood pulp, and break bulk cargo vessel operations. Maintained all stevedoring gear to include spreader bars and rigging.
