I have served students for 13 years in Montgomery, TX. The successes that I've encountered have been due to nuance and creativity being met by these three needs I have for students. The true good news of Jesus and why He's deserving of being followed, that the Father speaks and cares deeply about their identity, and an example for them to follow. This is central to how I teach, how I mentor, and how I develop people and teams. The greatest gift student ministry has given me is that the same students that I've had to pick up from parties, go to away games, simply show up for in their lives, I've seen fall in love with Jesus. Then, grow up to become my friends and be a part of my community and invest back into me and my family. I'm so grateful that the Lord has done that for me. But, it also just the product of caring deeply for people, wanting to know what the Father thinks of them, and helping them hold themselves to that standard.
