Summary

Proven leader and skilled problem-solver, I excelled at DSL Builders by managing teams to complete high-stakes projects on time, demonstrating exceptional project management and critical thinking abilities. My background as a State Trooper and Firefighter/EMT-Basic further showcases my commitment to community safety and emergency response, highlighting my adeptness in high-pressure environments and interpersonal communication.

Transitioning from careers as a state trooper, carpenter, and firefighter/EMT to the line trade involves leveraging a diverse set of skills.

1. **Safety and Risk Management**: All these roles demand a strong emphasis on safety protocols and risk management, which is crucial for linemen who work with high-voltage electricity and in potentially hazardous conditions.

2. **Problem-Solving and Critical Thinking**: As a state trooper and firefighter/EMT, quick decision-making and problem-solving are essential, skills that are equally important for linemen when troubleshooting electrical issues or assessing equipment for repair.

3. **Technical Proficiency and Equipment Handling**: The carpentry skills of working with tools and understanding construction can translate to handling electrical equipment and operating machinery like bucket trucks, which are integral to a lineman's duties.

4. **Physical Fitness and Stamina**: The physical demands of being a firefighter or carpenter, such as climbing and working in various weather conditions, align well with the physical requirements of climbing poles and working outdoors as a lineman.

5. **Communication and Teamwork**: Effective communication and teamwork are critical in law enforcement and emergency services, skills that are also valuable for linemen who often work in teams and interact with customers during service outages.
