I’ve loved music for as long as I can remember. I took piano lessons from the age of 5 into my teenage years, and as my love for music grew, my curiosity for other veins of music arose, and I started getting into drums in the 4th grade. From then until the end of high school, I became apart of every single music group my school system had to offer at the time, all ranging from competitive jazz bands, concert bands, competitive wind ensembles, orchestra pits for musicals, competitive marching bands and competitive marching percussion groups. Throughout all of these experiences even just in middle school and high school, I never doubted that music is where I’m meant to be. This led to my decision to attend school for drumming, and long story short I moved across the country from Sherwood, Oregon to Nashville, Tennessee to obtain my Bachelor of Commercial Music, with core instrumental focus on drum set and emphasis in music technology and composition. In the middle of my high school years, I grew to believe that the love of music should be encouraged to the younger generations, so I started teaching beginner level students when I was 15, and continued to do so until the end of my sophomore year of college in 2021. Teaching, in general but especially over zoom, started to get challenging with my growing college schedule, so I had to pause my teaching for awhile. Since graduating, I have realized just how much I enjoy pouring into others, especially the younger generations, and feel very excited about any opportunities to do so in a musical context.
