The Power Desalination & Sea Water Cooling facility of Royal Commission (PD&SCD) at Yanbu, Saudi Arabia is based in the red sea coast and provides the power and potable water for the MYAS community and industries. It also provide high quality process water and industrial cooling sea water.

Duties and Responsibilities

Start up, shutdown and operations of the follows;

• 127.5 MW Steam Turbine Generators
• 410MT/hr Boilers (169.0 Kg/cm²)
• 6 vertical circulating sea water pumps, each with a capacity of 50000M³/h including it's 3.5 MW synchronizes motor drives.
• 4 vertical circulating sea water pumps, each with a capacity of 25000M³/h including it's 1.75 MW synchronizes motor drives.
• 8 units of Sodium Hypochlorite Generation Plants, each with the capacity of 200 GPM
• Motor driven multistage air compressors and pumps.
• Heavy Fuel Oil & Light Fuel Oil Storage tanks.
• CO₂ generating plant.
• UPS System (Uninterrupted Power Source)
• Maintain log readings, tagging out equipment for maintenance work and attending to various other on line maintenance work as and when required.

Responsible for safe and efficient operation of the follows;

• Reformer area which consists of and Auxiliary Boiler, Heat Recovery Boiler, High Pressure Turbines, Motor Driven Pumps, Deaerator, Steam Generation, Sulfur Removal System, CO₂ Removal System, Synthesis Loop, Refrigeration Loop and Ammonia Converters.
• Compressor area which consist of Multi stage High Pressure Siemens Turbines, Compressors, Motor Driven Pumps and Surface Condenser which creates vacuum for the turbines.
• Control Room which controls the whole plant by trimming the process to given maximum production.
