  • Patrol Officer 4 years.
  • Neighborhood Response Officer 4 1/2 years working problem areas in the City of Glendale. Utilized Community Policing techniques to solve nuisance residence issues by authoring and executing search warrants.
  • Narcotics Detective assigned to the Special Investigations Unit for 13 years working undercover and assigned as a Narcotics K9 Handler/Trainer. SIU was partnered with the Drug Enforcement Administration working Title III wiretap investigations focusing on mid-level narcotics trafficking investigations related to the Mexican Drug Cartels. SIU was also the Westside HIDTA Task Force for the greater Phoenix area. Authored and assisted fellow Detectives in over 500 search warrants for narcotics trafficking. My responsibilities also included training of new Detectives assigned to the unit, Officers in search and seizure regarding narcotics, Training civilians with narcotics identification and drug trafficking trends as an instructor at the Glendale Citizen's Academy, member and Task Force Officer for the U.S. Postal Service interdicting packages and traffickers that are utilizing the postal system to traffic illicit drugs.
  • Community Action Team Officer for 3.5 years. Incorporated Community policing techniques to solve community issues, blight, homelessness, drug house criminal activities affecting the surrounding neighborhoods, identifying and locating Aryan Brotherhood gang members committing criminal activities. Partnered with departments within the City of Glendale to achieve success with solving community issues. Communicated with Councilmembers of the city and Mayor with any community issues that would arise from their constituency. Formed Neighborhood Block Watches, Authored and implemented a Neighborhood Patrol Program patterned after the successful Phoenix Police Department's Phoenix Neighborhood Patrol. Organized G.A.I.N. events in the city and Cops and Kids yearly Christmas event. Partnered with businesses to solve trespassing, theft, and burglary issues. Partnered with Midas Muffler to voluntarily engrave license plate numbers on customer's catalytic converters to fight catalytic converter theft. Partnered with clergy of two churches to form a coalition to assist citizens in a large 794 unit trailer park encompassing 66 acres that had a very high crime rate, Aryan Brotherhood presence and the citizens had trust issues with Glendale PD. This coalition contained several city departments, Councilmember for that area, businesses, two pastors, and citizens from the area. We had monthly meetings to discuss issues and how the city departments could assist the citizens. The pastors lead the meetings while the city departments role was to support the coalition.
