• The Director of Safety Operations manages a departmental sub-function within MYR Group’s Corporate Safety Department. Creates strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops policies, and procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Directs and oversees safety programs and standards to reduce potential accidents and injury. Manages Safety Managers within MYR Group

• Establishes guidelines governing the collection and maintenance of employee training records, health/safety manuals or handbooks, incident/accident reports, or other documentation

· Establish portfolio safety program and plans to suppose the key customers of the specific business units that align with the MYR and customer safety requirements

• Audits facilities or processes to identify weaknesses or risks and proactively develops and implements corrective actions; ensures appropriate investigation of and response to accidents or injuries

• Ensures compliance with applicable federal, state, or local statutes or regulations including OSHA

• Enforces organizational safety programs and policies that are meant to prevent injuries, fires, or other workplace accidents

• Directs the identification and mitigation of potential safety hazards, the development and delivery of safety training programs educating employees on safe working practices, appropriate equipment operation, and emergency procedures, or the investigation of accidents and incident

• Ensures development plans are in place for Safety Managers and Safety Specialists

• Ensure Districts have adequate safety staffing

• Works as a liaison with Districts and Legal during designated accident investigation

• Coordinates support during SAT investigations

• Leads and directs the work of other employees and has full authority for personnel decisions in conjunction with the business unit leadership

Provide senior leadership in the Transmission and Distribution Division, demonstrating vision, experience and maturity. Establish, develop, plan, organize, coordinate and lead the efficient and safe operation of transmission and distribution system operations and maintenance services. Engage in power business development and relationships (as relates to APS customers), both individually. Manage proposal and contract development, negotiations and alliance meetings. Manage effectively in accordance with our Accident Prevention Manual, Union Labor agreement and company procedures. As needed, evaluate bids for conformity with contract requirements and specifications and make recommendations. Adhere to performance goals, operations review, project reviews, including formal auditing processes such as project QA plans, pre-plans, project plans and post job reviews. Prepare project status reports and provide regular updates directly to senior management. Ensure all company, customer, project policies, procedure standards, safety programs, etc., are adhered to. Provide input and direction to planning, scheduling, and engineering functions as required. Assess competency and training requirements for direct reports. Perform annual performance evaluations and initiates disciplinary action if required for direct reports.

Project oversight and to allocate resources while analyzing transmission, substation and related electrical project work and coordinate system outages. Assist Engineering and Construction Team in project design and development. Submit outage requests for planned project work and create electrical zones of protection for field personnel to work within, satisfying all safety procedures. Worked with Operations and project managers to resolve conflicts between outage requests and system operating constraints. Responsible for optimizing the policies, procedures to operate in a safe, reliable and efficient manner.

Responsible for the execution and coordination of the real-time transmission and reliability operating duties of PNM. Executed the power system switching for scheduled and emergency outages, the matching of generation to load, OATT, posted to the OASIS, maintaining system security and reliability, system frequency, and the safety and coordination requirements thereof. Operated to meet all applicable WECC,FERC and NERC operating criteria, standards and procedures.
