  • Started at Jostens in Desktop. Utilized Pagemaker and inspected individual pages to ensure they were within Jostens guidelines. Created proofs and film. Worked any necessary rework based on shift needs. Served as a resource operator.
  • Worked as an imposition operator and night shift lead at the inception of the imposition department. Sent imposed files to film so that plates could be burned. Later sent imposed files directly to plate after pre-press inspection. Ran and bent plates in the Plate Department when needed.
  • Currently serve as the Imposition Lead. Responsibilities include:


- management of the workflow of all yearbook and commercial products.

- working with press supervisors and production control to ensure that all presses are evenly balanced with work released.

- coordination of training for all imposition operators.

- creation and maintenance of all commercial templates.

- working with Prinergy Techs to ensure all yearbook templates are correct and current.

- working with System Engineers to manage and test new yearbook products.

- working with departments outside of imposition to ensure all products are delivered in a timely manner and are within quality standards. Departments include Production Control, YTO, QC, Cover Plant, Folding, Press (offset and digital), Bindery and Commercial.

- providing feedback to imposition operators to help consistently improve quality.

- working to make sure staffing levels are adequate based on current and future needs.

Accomplishments

  • I have worked with key subject matter experts to develop and maintain a library of commercial templates to help improve the consistency of all commercial layouts.
  • I was directly involved in the development of all templates for the Arizona project. I worked closely with all areas of Jostens to track all separate runs
  • I was on a Kaizan team to increase the lip size of yearbook layouts to improve Bindery efficiency. I recommended new paper sizes to support the increased lip size.
  • I revised current work & turn layouts to help ensure they are cut and folded evenly.
  • I am currently working with Jostens system engineers to automate key functions within the Imposition Department.
