Work History

Compliance Officer 1

Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles
04.2021 - Current
  • Managed relationships with regulators, maintaining open lines of communication to ensure transparent operations.
  • Reduced the risk of financial penalties by conducting thorough internal audits on a regular basis.
  • Promoted a culture of continuous improvement through ongoing evaluation and refinement of compliance program elements.
  • Collaborated with cross-functional teams to address compliance concerns, fostering a culture of shared responsibility.
  • Processing paperwork given by customers to determine if they can be processed to register for the International Registry Plan and the International Fuel Tax Agreement. Then use the tools at my disposal including FRVIS, MCMAS, and IFTA Clearing House to Validate their company and application. All while being thorough in checking their documents and explaining to them the needs and requirements they are expected to have if they are missing said documents. I am also required to find and verify distribute the proper plate numbers and decals to the customers for the related transactions. Many different options and problems tend to arise, and as such I’m required to think on my feet to try and come up with a solution if any to the issue. If not I must again relay to the customer that they need more documents/information in order to proceed. Along with maintaining the counter. I have also been trained with CRS and CSR to operate as a cashier. In doing so I open the batch in the morning and maintain and keep track of all the funding turned in throughout the day. This is divided into two sections. Check, and Bank Card, which is split into both IRP and IFTA. All of which must be maintained throughout the day and consolidated for the end of day report. This is kept track of and maintained on Excel. I turned them in the following day to Audit, Revenue, and prep the checks for deposit. This sometimes requires me to stay after hours to make sure all files are correct. Should there be discrepancies I report them to get any corrections completed to close the batches in order to begin the following day. Any refunds that need to be submitted are prepped and kept on an Excel spreadsheet to be turned in and submitted for further review. Recently our department swapped over to a new system. I worked closely with the design team on the cashiering aspects and helped develop the order of operations for maintaining and checking the processes for accuracy to submit correct records in the event a further audit of our department is made.

Electronics Sales Associate

Wal-Mart Supercenter
02.2017 - 06.2019
  • Increased customer satisfaction by providing knowledgeable assistance and personalized recommendations for electronics purchases.
  • Maintained a clean, organized, and visually appealing sales floor, ensuring an enjoyable shopping experience for customers.
  • Applied knowledge of electronics products to educate prospects and customers.
  • Served as a reliable resource for colleagues seeking assistance with challenging client inquiries or complex technical issues related to electronics products and services.
  • Operating cash register and maintaining till. Assisted the Department manager by keeping record of inventory of product to keep the department caught up and moving product daily. Also took in and verified inventory as it was delivered off of the truck ensuring we had the correct amount of product delivered as well as the correct product in general. Maintained several departments at the same time as the store was short staffed often and required us to cover more than one. Maintained modulars and shelf item placement as the modulars changed. I performed customer service every day, everything from assisting with refunds to making suggestions on electronic products. I grew a base of several devoted customers whom only liked to work with me. I was also awarded employee of the month several times. It was during this my department manager would leave inventory, opening the department as well as maintaining multiple other departments alone as they knew I could handle multitasking and spearheading multiple projects at once.

Admissions, Customer Service Rep, Group Sales

Wild Adventures
04.2012 - 08.2015
  • Increased team productivity with effective communication and collaboration strategies.
  • Managed a high volume of customer inquiries, demonstrating excellent problem-solving skills to resolve concerns quickly.
  • Optimized resource allocation through effective scheduling, prioritization of tasks, and delegation of responsibilities among team members.
  • Delivered outstanding customer support by providing prompt, courteous assistance during all interactions with clients.
  • Admissions had me keeping track of selling both tickets and seasonal passes, keeping track of different customers account expiration dates, and keeping up with the cash and checks in the till. With Guest Relations, it was as it sounds. I was one of the ones to deal with customer complaints and refunds. I often had to use my own judgement when it came to giving the cash back, extra tickets, etc; all depending on the situation. But that job came naturally to me, and also awarded me a team member of the month title. Group sales, which was both Admissions and Guest Relations combined, usually handled larger groups and reservations. I was keeping track of each customer group, their payments, and arranging their trip times and coordinating it with the different individuals.

Store Manager, Inventory Manager PR Manager

Pirate Pete's Fireworks
12.2005 - 07.2009
  • Managed daily operations to ensure smooth functioning of the store, maintaining a clean, safe environment for customers and employees.
  • Managed inventory control, cash control, and store opening and closing procedures.
  • Addressed customer complaints promptly and professionally, resolving issues to maintain positive relationships with clientele.
  • Managed store employees successfully in fast-paced environment through proactive communication and positive feedback.
  • I was the main go to for the companies PR. We began with two stores in 2005, then branched out in 2006 to four. At this time I began maintaing the company's registers: programming PLU bar codes and taxes into registers, and assisting other stores with register issues. I did this while actively running a store, keeping an eye on its stock, and ordering more as quantities decreased. At the end of every night, I tallied up the register, checked for discrepancies between drawer and register, and returned my store's earnings to the company owners at the end of every night. I was also the one sent to our newer stores to do PR work and build relationships with the surrounding community. And I was deployed each time a store would have an issue. I would be assigned the problematic store to correct the different issues.
