● Accurately measuring and cutting lumber, such as 2x4, 2x6, 2x8, 2x10, 4x4, 4x6, plywood, OSB and other building materials. Attach building materials together using a pneumatic nail gun, hammer, screws, bolts and nuts. Installing hold downs, A35 framing angle brackets.

● Demolition and performing repairs on existing structures that are damaged or structurally unsound.

● Assisting with building and putting together concrete forms for concrete structures. Mix sand, gravel, cement and water in a wheelbarrow to produce concrete for building applications. Measuring and cutting rebar, tying rebar together and drilling holes into foundation or concrete for rebar installation. Break concrete with an electric jack hammer, rotary hammer, or sledgehammer.

● Performed burnout operations to protect wildlife habitat during an active wildfire in various environmental terrains. Photographed and documented prescribed burns and wildfires to give documentation to the incident commander to determine the fire’s overall behavior and impact on the incident.

● Constructed direct and indirect fire lines on different types of terrain during active wildfires. Operated a chipper to chip-up brush, branches, logs and tree limbs. Observed weather and used a belt weather kit to document and report weather to the crew boss during a wildfire incident.

● Operated a chainsaw to fall trees, cut limbs, brushes and logs. Perform proper chainsaw maintenance after every project or fire assignment for maximum efficiency.

● Constructed indirect fire lines with basic hand tools, such as, a pulaski, McLeod and shovel. Performed mop-up operations on a suppressed wildfire for any active smoke, hotspots or embers.

● Assisted with chipping brush, tree limbs and logs into a chipper.

● Kept shop equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing maintenance on tools and equipment.

● Assisted with routine maintenance on engine and electric components (replacing fluids, lubricating parts, etc.)

● Operated a power/pressure washer to clean and wash engine components, the exterior of cabs and fuel tanks attached to semi-trailer trucks. Performed daily checks on water tanks, hoses, valves and equipment to ensure adequate water supply and maximum capability.
