Instructional Specialist

ELL SPECIALIST JOB DUTIES:

• Conduct and/or assist with the administration of formative and summative assessments for ELLs and former ELLs;
• Monitor the academic and linguistic progress of ELLs and former ELLs and make instructional recommendations based upon student data;
• Provide intensive English intervention to ELLs as scheduled daily;
• Meet the state requirements by completing approved lesson planning documentation;
• Provide training to SEI and Gen Ed teachers on practices to support EL students;
• Developing lessons thru collaborative planning (CTs) which support Gen Ed curriculum goals;
• Model ELL strategies for teachers during collaboration times;
• Participate on and provide recommendations for Individual Data Meetings for all ELLs and former ELLs being considered for Special Education screenings;
• Provide training and support on the development of the new SEI Models;
• Assist with state program compliance review;
• Facilitate ELL parent/school interaction opportunities;
• Fulfill other duties as assigned.
