I serve in my local community by participating in events, and activities focused
on the homeless, mission work, food distribution, and visiting and singing to the elderly at
Premier Nursing and Kempton Nursing Homes. I have been involved and/or a member of
various organizations, groups, and clubs, which include Braille and American Sign Language
Club, Sexual Risk Avoidance Education (SRAE) Youth Council Member, Young Disciples for Christ
Choir Member, Pastors’ Aid Committee Member, City of Jacksonville Youth Council Member,
and a Volunteer for Eastern Carolina Human Services Agency (ECHSA), Inc. My church, school,
and community involvement have enabled me to lead in the following capacity as Section
Leader for Percussion in the SWHS Marching and Concert Band, Assistant Secretary for the
DFCCC Pastors’ Aid Committee, and Assistant to the DFCCC Church Secretary, and a lead singer
on the Young Disciples for Christ Choir. In October 2022, I was awarded the “Youth of the Year”
award from my church, DFCCC, Inc., for exemplifying outstanding dedication, service, and
unwavering commitment to my church and the work of God.
