I am currently completing a Bachelors degree in counseling and behavioral science, and am interested in working with other individuals struggling with mental, psychological, or emotional challenges. I am interested in expanding my skills and improving techniques that can effectively and professionally assist others. I have a lot of experience with troubled or disadvantaged children and have worked in various settings. Eager to contribute positivity, motivation, compassion and genuine interest to the behavioral field.
I currently work with three different children from the same family during the after -school hours. Being that the children are of different ages and have different needs I practice varying skills such as behavior training, social skills lessons, personal care education, homework completion, and interpersonal practice. I have gained a lot of knowledge and practical strategies from the BCBA supervisor who has taught me various useful techniques. Techniques that I implement include positive reenforcement and feedback, sensory activities, behavior reduction, interpersonal engagement, roleplaying, relaxation, and de-escalation. I am very involved in the family dynamics and help family members develop effective communication and appropriate interaction. Consistently assess goals and alter tasks to age appropriate developmental goals.
