Work History

Intern

Synaptech
09.2024 - Current

Core Member, EEG-Prosthetics Team, Synaptech (2023-2025)As a core member of the EEG-Prosthetics team within Synaptech, the neurotechnology club at the University of Washington, I played a key role in developing algorithms to analyze brain slice images and map cortical layers to specific behavioral actions, driving the integration of neuroimaging with prosthetic control.

  • Developed a program to accurately identify and classify cortical layers from brain slice images, providing a foundation for subsequent behavioral analysis.
  • Designed and implemented an algorithm to correlate identified cortical layers with specific motor actions, such as hand and arm movements, creating a direct mapping between neural activity and behavior.
  • Enhanced prediction accuracy and real-time performance by applying advanced machine learning techniques and feature extraction methods.
  • Conducted rigorous testing and validation on labeled datasets to ensure the robustness and scalability of the algorithms across diverse neural imaging scenarios.
  • Collaborated with the team to integrate the prediction system into a prosthetic device, enabling EEG-based control of movements.
  • Regularly presented algorithmic progress and technical insights during team meetings and club lectures, exploring the intersection of neuroimaging and machine learning.
  • Participated in community outreach events such as Brain Awareness Week and Dawg Daze, demonstrating the potential of EEG-controlled prosthetic systems to the public.
  • Worked closely with interdisciplinary team members to troubleshoot challenges and implement innovative solutions for EEG-based applications.

The Lake of Su Dongpo(a Chinese Poem)
07.2024 - 08.2024

Designed and Built a Garbage-Cleaning Vessel (202X)
Led the design and construction of a garbage-cleaning vessel equipped with a conveyor belt and net-capture system to efficiently collect floating waste from water bodies. Focused on lightweight, durable materials and integrated basic automation for enhanced efficiency. Successfully tested the vessel in local waters, contributing to environmental sustainability and waste reduction efforts.

Hot-Electron Transistor], published in [], responsible for recording experimental data, operating instruments, and performing basic calculations and validations to support the study.

  • In this research, at the beginning, we mistakenly used an incorrect formula. This mistake occurred because we relied on a conclusion derived from a formula that did not explicitly include a critical zero-factor term. As a result, when we continued to use this formula in subsequent stages, the zero-factor term was consistently omitted, ultimately leading to deviations in our conclusions.
  • However, through extensive research in books and online resources, I eventually discovered the original formula and incorporated the missing zero-factor term.
