Chenhao Yuan

Currently a recent graduate from the University of Maryland, I am seeking a job supporting the development and management of civil and transportation-related engineering projects. I always do my best and would be willing to put effort into it to be successful. I’m very passionate about gaining experience in roadway and transportation system designs, as I firmly believe that the main objective of this job is to transport people in a way that’s safe, convenient, and comfortable. I like to brainstorm new ideas and would be willing to take time to convert my ideas into reality. I would love to learn more about highway engineering as I’m very interested in how to effectively maximize traffic flow and safety by analyzing the current condition of the traffic and coming up with an applicable and sustainable solution by using engineering software, such as Microstation and Autodesk Revit.

• Established a base understanding of how the current building codes and practices in Prince Georges and Montgomery County are adapted in order to protect infrastructure from the present day effect of climate change.
• Predicted and anticipated future damage on infrastructure, which could be caused by climate change and its increased effects on the intensity of hurricanes, floodings, and severe storms.
• Accessed how the current engineering and structural scope in the design cycle of infrastructure is affected by climate change
• Identified problem areas (in terms of present or future implications caused by climate change) in the current building codes and provided recommendations based off of evidence and analysis
