Pursing a Doctor of Nursing Practice in Psychiatric-Mental Health at Herzing University will provide me with the skills needed to hone my clinical skills, be amongst the decision makers and possible transform of mental health care delivery in healthcare. I will be able to provide evidence base nursing care at an advance level and improve access to mental health in underserved communities; integrating mental health care into primary care settings. A doctorate degree from Herzing Univeristy will not only allow me to practice as an advance practice registered nurse but it will also help with my future goal of joining a nursing faculty. There is a shortage of nursing faculty resulting in many qualified applicants being rejected from nursing programs. This contributes to the nursing shortage we are facing.
