Accomplishments

From 2019, 2020 and 2021 I was heavily involved with my daughter's high school marching band and concert band (Grossmont High School; Royal Blue Regiment), and a part of the GIMA (Grossmont Instrumental Music Association) Program as Secretary for 3 consecutive years while she was attending high school. My duties were taking minutes notes during monthly meetings, assisting the Band Director and GIMA staff, as well as various band parents and other local San Diego Unified School District schools working alongside us for annual field tournaments, quarterly fundraising events every year with Chipotle Mexican Restaurant and Panda Express Chinese restaurant in the La Mesa/Grossmont district, all outside public community annual events such as the Chula Vista Christmas Parade, La Jolla Christmas Parade, Fourth of July public events, and the Mother Goose Parade in El Cajon, as well as participating with Grossmont Center's annual Gift Wrapping event at the local mall during Christmas time. We also held our very own annual Silent Auction every Easter for Auction Baskets that band parents, families, relatives and friends could participate and auction for. I developed highly effective communication skills, teamwork with both parents and band students, working in tandem with other varying local high schools within various districts in San Diego, etc. I also developed organizational and multi-tasking skills and being able to problem solve issues both positive and negative with everyone diplomatically. Highly enjoyed my time as a GIMA Program Staff as well as being a part of my daughter's marching band as a highly involved Band parent with my family.
