During my tenure at SRHS I functioned in many different roles. I was initially hired to perform as a member of the in-patient IV team where I was responsible for inserting/maintaining peripheral IV's, caring for and maintaining various central lines and administering blood for medical-surgical floors. I also was Chemotherapy certified in the system to administer chemotherapeutic agents. After the in-patient experience I transferred to the Home Health Services division providing care for IV patients in their homes instead of in the hospital. I was the weekend supervisor of Home Health Services at one point during my time in Home Health Services. There was a brief interruption in my employment with the SRHS where I worked as a travel RN (2000-2003) When I returned to the SRHS I initially was in a contracted position (2001-2003) where i worked in the ICU at the Restorative Care Hospital. I was responsible for the bedside care of critically ill patients. After a 2 year period as a contracted employee I took a full time position performing the same duties. I subsequently took the position of 7P Supervisor of the Restorative Care Hospital. My responsibilities included overseeing the nightly operations of the Hospital and managing the nursing staff on duty. During my time at the SRHS I also returned to the Home Health Division the oversee the Intake/Referral and Insurance department. My duties there included managing employees who received referrals and processed them to procure patients for home health services. I also had oversight in the insurance aspect as well. Still within the system I transferred to the Ellen Sagar Nursing Home to assume the Interim DON position then the ADON position. I left the system in December 2020 as I retired January 2021.
I provided end of life care for patients in their home. I was the weekend on-call RN.
During my time with Maxim I provided care for critically ill adults in various locations including Rhode Island, North Carolina and South Carolina. Worked 13 week contracts in various facilities including the Miriam Hospital, Betsy Johnson Regional Medical Center, Dorn VA Medical VCenter and The Spartanburg Hospital for Restorative Care.
During my time at MBMH I worked in the PCCU then transferred into the ICU where I was responsible for the bedside care of critically ill patients. I also worked in the Special Care Baby Nursery where i was responsible for the bedside care of sick and premature newborns. I eventually assumed the Directorship of Newborn/Special Care Nurseries as well as a brief period as the Director of the Critical Care Department.
I worked in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit providing care for sick and premature newborns.
