Summary

I have been in the medical/nursing profession for over 36 years. In that time, I worked as a CNA, LPN, RN, obtained my BSN, and then completed my MSN. I have worked in extended care facilities, in-home caring for children with special needs, and hospitals. I gained experience through being a travel nurse for 8-years and gained a great deal of knowledge and experience within the past sixteen years of my employment at UPMC Hanover Hospital. I am highly motivated, goal oriented, and am a compassionate team player with strong work ethics, always seeking new opportunities and challenges that will not just benefit myself and my family but also my team members, patients, and their families. I graduated with my BSN from Chamberlain University College of Nursing Online and then my MSN from Capella University online, all while working full-time and managing home life with three children and three grandchildren. I participated in committees and completed EBP projects; as well as adjusted my work schedule to best fit the needs of our department and our patients. With my background in the healthcare industry and at UPMC Hanover, I understand the importance of being flexible, complying with policies, procedures and maintaining confidentiality. I have experience and knowledge not just working for patients in every aspect but also in staff scheduling, being the charge nurse, focusing on detail, trouble-shooting issues, and coordinating with all members of the multidisciplinary team. I was the Unit Director of Perianesthesia for 6-years. I managed the department budget, interviewed, and hire new employees, assisted with the organizations strategic plan, along with many other leader requirements. I am very enthusiastic, reliable, dependable, trustworthy, and approachable. I enjoy working with others providing safe, patient-centered care in a calm and enjoyable atmosphere.

I am a Professional healthcare practitioner ready to excel in a new role. I bring hands-on experience in patient care, including administering medications and managing treatment plans. Known for strong team collaboration, adaptability, and achieving optimal patient outcomes. Skilled in critical thinking, patient education, and maintaining calm demeanor in high-pressure environments.
