I have worked in the OR as a circulating nurse, excelling in arthroscopic procedures, also ORIF'S, podiatry, GYN, plastics, general including laparoscopy's, ENT and endoscopy. The last 18 months I have been the OR supervisor, while still working in the rooms. My duties at supervisor are: Hiring, scheduling, working with vendors, making sure we have supplies necessary for the procedures, helping to recruit new doctors and convincing the ones we have to schedule more cases, and writing new policies and procedures.
Med/surg floor 1993-1994; passing meds, changing dressings, preparing patients for surgery or procedures, receive patients after surgery.
OR 1994-1998; I was trained as a circulating nurse, they thought I would be good in orthopedics so that started my career in ORIF's, arthroscopy's in which I have excelled, and total joints. I also was proficient in General(bowel resections, laparoscopy's) podiatry, GYN, plastics, ENT and oral surgeries.
