Advocates for the patient and the patient's family, promoting safety by practicing in accordance with the BON rules and regulations. The practice of an LVN must be performed under the supervision of an RN.

Utilizes a systematic problem-solving process in the care of multiple patients with predictable health care needs to provide individualized, goal-directed nursing care. LVN's contribute to the plan of care by collaborating with interdisciplinary team members, the patient and the patient's family members.

Administers medications within the scope of practice of an LVN, under the direction of an RN to include intravenous medications.

Functions in the role of a Hospital Unit Clerk or Patient Care Tech. Able to provide care to a group of med surg patients boarding in the Intensive Care Unit.

Assist with transporting patients, accompanies RN with any critical patient care transports. Transfers all patients to med surg from critical care as beds become available.
