Interviewed patients to obtain medical history.
Provides emotional support to the patient, showing empathy and interest in the patient's progress.
Obtains and provides information on patients at morning briefings with nursing personnel, and in contacts with doctors.
Checks prescribed dosages against MAR Summary.
Observes and reports adverse reaction to medication. Recognizes the need for emergency care; initiates life-saving action in emergencies and alerts the nurse-in-charge or physician.
Measures and records vital signs; records bed care procedures, such as Paracentesis output and started intravenous fluids, noting times and amounts on patient charts.
Charting and recording of assigned tasks. Prepares the patient for examination, positioning and draping the patient and cleansing areas of the patients' body, and hands instruments to the physician during treatments and procedures. Such as Wound Care, I&D, Toe Nail removal, unna boots, wound packing and etc.
Provides bedside care such as maintaining call light within reach, providing comfort and safety, performing urgent tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment.
Give ear irrigations. Cleans, debrides, medicates and applies dressings to wounds, using sterile technique.
Set-up appropriate instruments and supplies. Prepare and use supplies for Ortho splint
Transfer patient and give report to another unit, while maintaining and safe guarding patient information (HIPPA)
Provided patient with discharge education, homecare and paperwork
Prevents spread of infection using principles of asepsis technique.
