Summary

Enthusiastic, creative and experienced teacher who has specialist credentials in both Visual Impairments and Blindness and in Orientation & Mobility.

I have been teaching students with visual impairments for 29 years and bring valuable knowledge for conducting FVAs; developing standard-based IEP goals; teaching students with unique visual abilities and cognitive functioning; and, ordering specialized equipment then training students and other team members on its use.

My caseload has consisted of up to 21 students, across five school districts in 15 schools, where I cultivated professional relationships with agencies, teachers, parents, and administrators to enhance the support and the academic experience for my students.

I have a background in functioning as part of a Visually Impaired team and individually as the only TVI for the Fairvalley PAU within LACOE.

I have loved my career and wish to continue advocating for and supporting students with specialized educational needs as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired
