Support Section ( 2008- 2009 )

• I provided physical security at Munhumutapa Building
• Security duties also included the office security which involved daily room and vehicle searches and guest screening
• The Section also provided VIP protection to foreign delegates, for example visiting First Ladies and other designated VIPs.

Ministerial Section

• I was attached to Ministers and undertook VIP protection duties
• The Section also included searches, advance and site surveys prior the VIP visit
• It also included foreign advances
• I have vast experience in radio communication and surveillance
• The Section also entailed intelligence gathering and threat assessment so as to adequately protect the VIP.

Vetting Section

• The Section involved the vetting of various individuals who intend to join the Organisation or any government parastatal, for instance board members, government employees in key parastatals
• Vetting was done through open interviews and then discreet vetting
• It was also anchored on intelligence gathering so as to deter undesirable elements from joining key positions in sensitive areas.

Operations Division

• As a senior officer, I was then attached as a staff officer to the Assistant Director Operations at the CIO Headquarters
• The Operations Division is the core of the Security Branch which handles all the operational planning of all security operations
• My duties include planning protective operations on every movement by the President of Zimbabwe both local and foreign
• I also undertake both local and foreign advances
• I liaise and coordinate with other security agencies, that is ZRP and ZNA and plan security meetings ahead of a protective operation
• The Operations Division has been an eye opener on all security planning and arrangements including aircraft requests, visa applications, accommodation bookings, air tickets and creating a security team for all local and foreign advances.
