My work experience began with food service at the age of 18 where I moved up within the company to become a shift supervisor, working for Sheetz for approximately four years. I worked at Tomato Pie Cafe as a shift lead and head cook. These years taught me hard work in long hours and the following leadership skills: conflict resolution, in the moment problem solving, pragmatic thinking, time management skills, and being openly receptive to constructive criticism. I worked at Brethren Village, a long term care facility for 4.5 years learning many skills, leading me to become an OTA. These skills include: ADL's with cueing, assistance as needed, building trusting professional relationships with geriatric residents, vital signs, end of life care, time management of multiple tasks, safe transfers, diet restrictions, and more. This work experience helped me during my FW 2 at a long term care facility + short term rehab where I learned to translate this experience and my college education as an OTA into clinical experience.
