Professional Development

WAETAG Spring Conference Presenter 2024 - Collaborated with colleagues in Seattle Public Schools Multilingual and Highly Capable departments to investigate the impact of implementing OCDE Project GLAD strategies as a UDL strategy to support not just multilingual learners but also highly capable learners and multilingual highly capable learners through curriculum planning and observational data of engagement in my diverse class of 3rd grade learners. 


OCDE Project GLAD Certified - November 2023 - In this multi-day training I learned a variety of strategies and tools that can be used for any curriculum, content area, or age to help support verbal and written academic language development for multilingual learners, but also for all learners. Strategies include an emphasis on teamwork, gradual release of scaffolds using color coding, and use of images.
