  • Rotated through surgery, medicine, hospital overnights, field overnight emergency, anesthesia, field elective (sports medicine focused), and field daytime emergency services.
  • Managed a caseload of emergency, internal medicine, and surgery cases, up to 11 patients at a time.
  • Trained in triaging emergencies and colic workups including nasogastric intubation, transrectal palpation, transabdominal ultrasound, abdominocentesis, cecal trocharization, establishing venous access, and emergency fluid resuscitation.

  • Assisted in all aspects of an equine osteoarthritis trial exploring the efficacy of isolated stem cells for reduction of clinical lameness in an induced fetlock chip model.
  • Preliminary data collection including baseline lameness examinations, experience with Equinosis Lameness Locator, fetlock radiographs, distal limb ultrasound, and acclimation of subject horses to the use of a high speed treadmill.

Executive Member OVC Equine Club - Events

Graduating position: Jr. Equine Practitioner's Forum Coordinator, Sr. Equine Practitioner's Forum Coordinator (2 years total completed 2021)
Co-organized the main networking event of the year for OVC Equine Club for over 80 attendees. Contacted and followed up with over 50 local equine professionals to arrange attendance. Promoted the event and sold tickets for students. Organized sponsorship, facilities, catering, activities, and a "new graduate panel" for the evenings events. Acted as Master of Ceremonies for the duration of the event.
