From my earliest experiences working with students to my current role as an ID Special Education Teacher, I have always been drawn to the emotional and relational aspects of student learning. I discovered that the moments I value most—listening to students, supporting emotional regulation, and collaborating with families—align deeply with the work of school counselors. I have seen how mental health, trauma, and environmental factors impact academic success. I want to expand my ability to support students by developing stronger counseling skills, crisis response tools, and an understanding of child development and school-based mental health. My experience in special education has built a foundation in collaboration, empathy, communication, and problem-solving. I hope to use a master's program in School Counseling to become a professional who supports the whole child—academically, socially, and emotionally—while fostering trust, safety, and growth. Well-rounded and compassionate Special Education Teacher skilled at addressing each student's unique needs and creating effective lesson plans to accommodate special circumstances. Develops, implements, and acts as teacher of record of Individualized Education Plans for students with disabilities.
