I bring a proven track record from NYU and Northeastern University, as well as my involvement with major Museums, Collections and institutional venues, in New York and around the world. Known for captivating audiences of all ages as well as fostering professional networks. I leverage strong organizational skills to create meaningful learning experiences, enhancing both historic and practical awareness and knowledge. Passionate about Art History, History, Studio Practice and instruction; as well as its relevance to ethical discourse and the formation of a strong and well educated identity.
I am deeply committed to Jewish awareness about things most people are not in fact aware. For example: the mechanism of restitution for lost art: Sotheby's Vienna has an entire building dedicated to this. The Lost Art Registry and efforts around the world, to find war spoils - the stories behind them - that continue to this day and will, into the future. The story of the Golden Lady at the Neue Galerie is particularly important as a springboard. This knowledge is something that is folded into my lens due to my vast experience and exposure in Europe - an important part of my understanding where Art History and History collide.
I also bring an awareness of Jewish Artists, whose identity or experience is sometimes erased by dealers and markets; but, who are an important part of the Art Historical canon; it spans a large arc of time, from Ancient History, to Medieval, Renaissance, Romantic, Turn of the Century, Pre War, Post War and finally, Contemporary, some of whose work is accessible right here in New York City. These artists represent all varieties of media; painting, sculpture, photography, animation, drawing, metalsmithing and manuscript illumination are good examples.
Lectured on current work and the influences behind it to student's of the Sotheby's Institute on a course on collecting art. They later came as a group to my studio for a live visit and a question and answer sit down session.
